The Entrance to the Novitiate of Sheuly Das
December 10, 2022, was a very important day for Sheuly, a realization of a desire that lasted longer due to the pandemic and immigration slowness. After five years in the postulancy program in Dhaka, Bangladesh, she was finally able to get the visa and then a long flight to Shreveport in Louisiana, USA.
The OLS sisters in the USA welcomed her during the Thanksgiving week, while together for ongoing formation and the celebration, but the majority of them were very happy to get together again at St Joseph in Alexandria for her admission to the novitiate.
Sheuly was happy and her happiness spread to all the sisters present, but in a special way to Ana Laura who was already in the novitiate. Now they can journey together, helping each other in learning how to become Sister of Our Lady of Sorrows, in the footsteps of Bl. Elisabetta Renzi.
The moment of prayer in which Sheuly received the Our Lady of Sorrows medal, from the hands of Sr Sandra, USA delegate of the Superior General, was followed by a brunch prepared by the St Joseph community, the cutting of the cake, and opening of the gifts from each community.
We, OLS sisters, are grateful to God for new vocations, and to those young women who are generously answering God’s call. We wish Sheuly a happy journey and profitable preparation for her first profession in our religious family. May God reward her waiting and her patience with much joy and deep peace.
