The General Chapter of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, celebrated during the month of July 2023, had as logo and theme: “Enlarging the space of our tent”. In the USA the OLS tent had cover the State of Louisiana from 1947 until 2014.
With the new school year of 2014-2015, the OLS tent had stretched to New Mexico when a new community was open in Las Cruces and the sisters went there to minister at the only Catholic School in town.

This year, 2026, in response to the challenge of the Chapter, the OLS sisters stretched their tent to Ohio State. M. Serena was inspired by the Holy Spirit to respond to an invitation from the Bishop of Columbus Diocese. Together with her Council and the USA Delegation she prayed and started a conversation with Sr Antoinette, the Delegate of Religious Life, whom the Bishop had asked to find more religious for the diocese. After several conversation and looking into different possible schools, the choice was made. M. Serena accepted to send sisters to the St. John the Evangelist School, a small catholic school, in Logan a small town in a hilly country area. The priest, the principal, the parishioners are very excited and happy for the sisters and very generously restored the convent close to the church and the school.
On September 15, the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, in the parish church, at the evening Mass, the Bishop, with a beautiful celebration and homily, officially welcomed the OLS sisters in his diocese, wishing them to be women of hope for the children, the youth, and the people of Logan.
